2004. He has served in a variety of capacities, including

all three of our programs. He has been a favorite Hogwarts Professor,
playing the convincing role as a “safe” vampire
teaching Wizard Duels. He has multiple years of experience in
stage combat, special effects, martial arts and theatre. This year he
brings in new and exciting classes––
(e.g. Nerf Tactics, Stage Effects and Fight Science) that
will dazzle children and parents alike. He serves as
Assistant Director of Summer Kampers.

WENDY RANSOM
Wendy has taught elementary students in the Ann Arbor area
for the past 11 years. In addition to her teaching

Enrichment and Hogwarts programs since their inception. She
has taught a variety of art and science enrichment courses.
Nancy designed, created and built most of the props for the Hogwarts
program on a volunteer basis. She has played the part of
Agnes Cranston, ìfluffyî Divination Professor, as
well as Professor St. Clair, the Minerva McGonnagall-esque Potions
Professor. She has an obsession with the potion of
youth. Every session, she has her students attempt to make
this precarious potion, which she then samples. Inevitably,
the inexperienced wizards include too much kitten fur (she turns into a
cat, complete with cat-eye contacts and real cat whiskers), too many
baby spinach leaves (she begins to turn green more and more throughout
the day, from her ankles to her ears), or too much of everything (one
year she turned into a 9-year old girl. The young lady who
played the part of the young Professor St. Clair wore her clothing, and
completely nailed her personality characteristics, giving a very
convincing performance!)
DAVID SEXTON
David has taught in the Summer Kampers program for 3 years.
He has offered classes such as Dungeons & Dragons, Magic: The
Gathering, Survival in the Wild, and the Pokemon Trading Card
Game. He was the Potions Professor this past summer for the

head (phrenology), runes, and interpret dreams to name a few.

DENNY JACOBS a.k.a. LITHAM STAANES
Litham joins us as a mysterious Hogwarts Professor specializing in
Defense Against the Dark Arts. The background of this wizard
is unclear, but rumor has it that he is actually a valued member of the
Department of Magical Law, e.g. A bona fide AUROR! We will
all enjoy getting to know this interesting character. Be sure
to sign up for Hogwarts at Summer Kampers to see what he has in store
for you!

TABI WALTERS
Tabitha is a creative and engaging teacher who has taught in our
Enrichment and Summer Kampers program for 3 years. In
addition to being an experienced teacher, Tabitha is a talented graphic
designer. She has taught classes in anime (Japanese
cartoons), sumi-e (Japanese brush painting), Hawaiian Hula Party, as
well as our Hogwarts Program. As Herbology Professor, she
came up with extraordinary special effects. For example, she
took raw eggs and blew out the contents and replaced them with a
colored gel. In the holes at the ends of the egg, she placed
roots and buried the creation in a flower pot. Students had
to dig up the eggs and use the contents in an assignment. The
effect was very realistic and exceptionally creative. This
past year, she created a Triwizard Tournament class, complete with a
room-sized maze and challenges throughout, culminating in a wizard duel
with a vampire.

HILARY WOLKAN
Hilary has been with Summer Kampers since 2001. She is a

an important part during the Special Week at Hogwarts in developing
plot ideas, special effects, and maintaining the magical atmosphere of
Hogwarts. She enjoys games, helping others, and pretty much
providing any help so that the students and staff can have the most
pleasant experience at the camp.

staff in all aspects of teacher and administrative support, as well as
customer interaction. The apprentice works on a volunteer
basis, and the parents do not pay camp fees. If the
apprentice performs well, the following year s/he becomes a paid
contractor. Joshua showed remarkable maturity and intelligence as a
kamper, and has worked for the camp for 4 years.
BRIAN COLLINS
This guy takes Hogwarts seriously, folks! From his invisibility cloak
to his incredibly detailed Marauder's Map, Brian was one of our most
memorable students of witchcraft and wizardry at Hogwarts. He is a high
school freshman, and returns as a helper again this summer in our
Hogwarts program, and perhaps Enrichment as well. Welcome back, Brian!

Some of my most fond Hogwarts memories are of Alison, drenched with
sweat, clenching the Quidditch Cup in her fist with all of the other
Gryffindors cheering her on. Alison was one of our most powerful team
captains to date. Alison returns this summer as an important Hogwarts
helper–– Especially on the Quidditch pitch.
